music monday: beach house.

usually i try to tell you something insightful about the band or their influence on music. but this week i read the most incredible description of beach house and their latest album, bloom, which sums up pretty much anything and everything i would want to say in a much more concise and hilarious way than i might have.

in a review of bloom for rolling stone, will hermes says:

‘beach house rec­ords live up to their name: they’re cozy retreats where you can curl up in warm, droning, reverb-drenched tunes and watch jellyfish bob in the surf. but on bloom, the baltimore duo’s fourth album, there’s a bitch of a storm blowing in.’

oh hell yes.
